Tender Description
The Pakistan Gems and Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC) based in Karachi, Sindh, is procuring advanced machinery and equipment for gems and jewellery identification, certification, and jade carving. This procurement covers a wide range of specialized goods including Raman Spectroscopes, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopes (FTIR), Energy Dispersive X-Ray Fluorescence (ED-XRF) Spectrometers, jewellery rapid prototyping 3D printing machines, laser marking machines, jade carving machines, and various related tools and accessories. The equipment is intended for gemological laboratory setups and jade carving workshops, ensuring high precision and quality in gemstone analysis and processing.
The technical scope includes desktop models with specific features such as laser safety stops, spectral ranges, high-resolution detectors, and comprehensive gemological libraries. The jade carving equipment includes CNC engraving machines, ultrasonic carving machines, rotary tools, diamond burs, lapidary cabbing machines, and polishing machines. All items come with a minimum two-year warranty and require delivery and installation within 90 days at the PGJDC premises in Karachi.
Eligible bidders must be registered with FBR and SECP as applicable, possess relevant experience, and comply with the bid security and earnest money requirements. The procurement follows a Quality and Cost Based Selection (QCBS) method, emphasizing both technical and financial evaluation. Bidders must submit their bids electronically via EPADS v2.0 by the deadline of June 6, 2026, 11:00 AM, with the original bid security physically delivered to the PGJDC office in Karachi before the closing time.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure timely registration on EPADS v2.0 and to carefully prepare the technical bid with all required documents including NTN, GST certificates, client lists, and affidavits confirming no blacklisting. Early preparation and compliance with bid security submission will avoid disqualification. The department emphasizes strict adherence to specifications and timely delivery to secure the contract and avoid penalties.
