The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Engineering Department invites bids for the Improvement and Rehabilitation of the sewerage system and fixing of paving blocks in Khalidabad, UC-04, TMC Malir Town, District Malir, Karachi. This project involves comprehensive civil works including excavation, pipe laying, manhole construction, and paving block installation to enhance the sanitation infrastructure in the area. Items being procured: - Excavation for pipeline trenches and pits in soft rock with proper dressing and disposal of surplus earth - Provision of fence guards, lights, flags, and temporary crossings for non-vehicular traffic - Supply and installation of RCC pipes of ASTM C-76-62 TIC 7670, class II wall 8, in sizes 300 mm and 375 mm diameter - Refilling excavated trenches with proper compaction - Construction of manholes or inspection chambers with cement plastering and fixing of manhole covers with frames - Preparation of sub-base with well-graded gravel compacted to 98-100% density - Hiring of pumping sets for water removal from trenches - Manufacturing and supplying RCC ring slabs and manhole covers - Dismantling of cement concrete work - Earth excavation in ash, sand, soft soil or silt - Carriage of materials like stone aggregate, bricks, tiles, timber, and fuel wood by trucks - Providing and fixing cement paving blocks flooring with natural and pigmented colors - Providing and fixing precast edge blocks with concrete haunching The technical scope covers all civil works related to sewerage rehabilitation and paving, including excavation, pipe laying, manhole construction, and surface finishing with paving blocks. The site is located in Karachi, Sindh province. Eligibility criteria include valid PEC registration in the relevant category, NTN and SRB active taxpayer status, submission of bid security of 5% of estimated cost, and compliance with the Integrity Pact.
