Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation Engineering Department invites bids for the installation of Solar LED Street Lights at the internal streets of Ibrahim Hyderi District Malir, Karachi. This procurement is specifically managed by the Executive Engineer, CM(E&M) of the Engineering Department, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation. The project involves the supply and installation of solar-powered LED street lighting systems, including GI single arm double arch poles, solar panels, batteries, and associated electrical fittings as per the specifications provided by the Electrical Inspector. The estimated cost of the project is **PKR 19.02 Million** with a bid security requirement of 5% of the estimated cost and a tender fee of PKR 5,000. The scope includes providing and fixing GI pipes, clamps, nuts, bolts, and solar LED street lights with a 300-watt capacity and 12-hour battery backup.
Eligible bidders must hold a valid PEC registration in categories C-6, EE-06, EE-11(i), EE-11(ii), EE-11(iii), or EE-11(vv), possess NTN and active tax payer status with FBR, and be registered with the Sindh Revenue Board. Additionally, an electrical contractor license valid from the Electrical Inspector Government of Sindh (Karachi Region) is mandatory. The firm must have a PEC-registered engineer and demonstrate experience by having completed similar works in the last five years, with at least one work equivalent to 80% of the estimated cost or two works equivalent to 50%. Financial soundness is required with a minimum annual turnover not less than the estimated cost.
Bids must be submitted online via the EPADS system on or before **June 9, 2026, at 2:00 PM**. The bid opening will take place the same day at 2:30 PM at the Office of the Superintending Engineer (E&M), 512 J.M New M.A. Jinnah Road, Gurumandir, Karachi. Physical submission of bid security pay orders and supporting documents is also required before the closing time. The procurement follows the Single Stage One Envelope method under SPPRA regulations.
