Tender Description
Pakistan State Oil Company Limited (PSO) Karachi is procuring specialized painting and coating services for piping at the BOT Zulfiqarabad Oil Terminal Port Qasim. This tender invites qualified contractors to undertake surface preparation and protective coating application on product pipelines of various diameters including 6 inches, 8 inches, 12 inches, and 16 inches, as well as angles and flat bars as assigned by the terminal engineer. The scope covers hazardous and safe zones with strict adherence to PSO safety and quality standards.
Items being procured:
- Surface Preparation using non-ferrous tools, sand paper, and power brushing (9,000 Sq Ft)
- Painting Works with two coats of Epoxy Mastic 150 microns each (9,000 Sq Ft)
- Application of Aliphatic Acrylic Polyurethane Top Coat with 60 microns dry film thickness (9,000 Sq Ft)
The technical scope requires surface preparation as per ISO8501-2/SSPC-SP2 and SP3 standards, mechanical cleaning in hazardous zones, and power tool use only in safe zones. The epoxy mastic coating must meet specified solids by volume, flash point, gloss level, and shelf life criteria. The polyurethane top coat must comply with PSO approved specifications including container size and color requirements. Valves and handles are included in the coating work.
Eligibility criteria include compliance with PSO safety rules, provision of personal protective equipment (PPE) for all workers, and responsibility for all labor, tools, materials, and transportation. Contractors must complete the job within 30 days of service order issuance. Late completion will incur liquidated damages of 0.1% per day up to 10% of the purchase order value. A one-year warranty on supplied items is mandatory.
