Progressive Closure of Municipal Dump at Jam Chakro

The Local Government Department, Government of Sindh, through its Project Implementation Unit (PIU) for the Solid Waste Emergency & Efficiency Project (SWEEP), invites bids for the progressive closure of the municipal dump site at Jam Chakro, Karachi. This procurement is part of a World Bank financed project aimed at improving solid waste management and environmental conditions in the region. Items being procured: - Construction of Dump Site Closure Works at Jam Chakro The scope involves civil works for the closure of the dump site, including earthworks, capping, drainage, and related infrastructure to ensure environmental safety and compliance with project standards. The site is located in Jam Chakro, Karachi, and the works must adhere to the technical specifications outlined in the bidding documents. Eligible bidders must be registered with the relevant PEC category for civil works and possess valid FBR and ATL registration. Experience in similar solid waste or environmental infrastructure projects will be advantageous. Bidders are required to submit a Bid Security of PKR 50,000,000 (Fifty million) or equivalent in freely convertible currency. The bidding documents are available for purchase upon submission of a written application and payment of a non-refundable fee of PKR 50,000. Documents can also be downloaded from the project website www.sweep.gos.pk. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes marked ORIGINAL BID, with separate envelopes for TECHNICAL PART and FINANCIAL PART, delivered to the PIU – SWEEP office by 13:00 hours Pakistan Standard Time on 10th August 2026. Late bids or electronic submissions will not be accepted. A practical tip for bidders: Ensure your bid security is correctly calculated and valid as per the exchange rate 28 days prior to submission.
