Tender Description
The Pakistan Meteorological Department, Regional Meteorological Centre located at Khyber Road, Peshawar, is procuring repair and upgradation services for a 10 KVA hybrid solar system installed at APS PBO Chitral. This project involves the supply and installation of high-quality solar components including Tier 1 mono N-type bifacial (TOPCon) solar panels with minimum 23% efficiency, a 10 KVA single-phase hybrid inverter with grid and battery support, and a LiFePO4 battery bank with 48V 300Ah capacity. The scope also covers mounting structures made of hot-dip galvanized steel or aluminum alloy, civil works for PCC foundation pads, and complete cabling and protection systems using branded components such as ABB and Schneider. The system must meet stringent technical specifications including IP65 design, advanced cooling, and safety features like surge protection and lightning arrestors. Warranty terms include 12 years product and 25 years performance warranty for solar panels, and at least 3 years comprehensive replacement warranty for batteries. The contract requires onsite testing including earthing and lightning arrestor tests.
Eligible bidders must be registered with the Federal Board of Revenue, appear on the Active Taxpayers List, and provide proof of similar government or semi-government supply experience. The bidding process follows the PPRA Rule 36(a) Single Stage-Two Envelope Procedure. Earnest Money of 5% of the quoted amount must be submitted as a pay order or bank draft in favor of the Director, RMC Peshawar. Bids must be submitted online via PPRA EPADS and hard copies delivered to the Director's office at Regional Meteorological Centre, Khyber Road, Peshawar. The deadline for submission is 19th May 2026 at 11:00 am, with bid opening at 11:30 am the same day.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure that all technical documents and certifications, especially IEC certificates and warranty details, are complete and verifiable to avoid disqualification during the technical evaluation. Timely submission of both online and hard copy bids is critical to avoid rejection. This tender offers a valuable opportunity for suppliers specializing in solar power systems to engage with a reputable government department in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with a clear schedule and payment terms.
