Tender Description
This tender invites qualified contractors in Karachi to supply and install solar power systems across multiple government buildings. The Energy Department of Government of Sindh seeks to enhance energy efficiency and reduce reliance on conventional power sources by deploying state-of-the-art photovoltaic panels and associated electrical infrastructure. The project involves site surveys, mounting solar arrays, wiring, and integration with existing electrical grids. Karachi's coastal climate and urban environment present unique engineering challenges, including corrosion resistance and load management.
Bidders must hold a valid PEC Category C-4 or above license and be registered with the FBR with an active ATL status for the fiscal year 2025-26. Compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements is mandatory to ensure smooth contract execution. The department advises bidders to prepare their technical and financial bids carefully, including Earnest Money in the form of a Call Deposit Receipt (CDR).
The submission deadline is set for 23:59:59 on the 1st of November 2023, with bid opening scheduled for 10:00 AM the following day at the Energy Department's office located at Karachi Secretariat Building. All bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes as per the tender instructions.
Pro-Tip: Make sure to verify the specific stamp duty requirements mentioned in the newspaper advertisement, as these are often overlooked and can lead to disqualification. Also, double-check the technical specifications to avoid common pitfalls related to warranty and maintenance clauses.
