Tender Description
Pakistan Railways Divisional Office Karachi is procuring special repair works for two key railway stations in Karachi. The scope includes the special repair to open the main hall converted into a waiting hall at Drigh Road Station and special repair to the Port Qasim Station building. These works are critical to facilitate passengers and improve station infrastructure in Karachi, a major urban center in Sindh.
The technical scope involves civil repair works at the specified stations, focusing on structural and finishing repairs to enhance passenger facilities. The contract duration for each repair is three months, requiring firms with proven expertise in civil construction and repair works. Eligible bidders must have valid registration with the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), be on the Active Taxpayer List (ATL), and hold Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) registration under Category C-6 or above with specialization category CE-10.
The estimated combined cost for these works is approximately PKR 110 million. Bidders must submit their bids through the E-Pak Acquisition & Disposal System (E-PADS) and provide bid security in the form of Pay Order or Call Deposit Receipt (CDR) in favor of the Divisional Accounts Officer, Pakistan Railways Karachi. The deadline for bid submission is 16th July 2026 by 11:00 AM, with bid opening at 11:30 AM on the same day at the Divisional Accounts Officer’s office.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure that the bid security is properly documented and submitted both in original and scanned form as required. Missing or improper bid security can lead to disqualification. Also, carefully review the technical and financial bid requirements to avoid common pitfalls. This tender offers a significant opportunity for contractors specializing in railway infrastructure repair in Karachi.
