Tender Description
The SBP Banking Services Corporation (SBP BSC) North Nazimabad Office in Karachi is procuring maintenance free dry batteries with accessories for an ABB 200KVA UPS system already installed at their premises. This procurement specifically involves the supply, replacement, installation, testing, commissioning, and integration of 150 units of 12V, 28Ah sealed maintenance free VRLA (AGM) dry batteries suitable for UPS applications. The batteries must meet stringent technical specifications including UL/IEC compliance, minimum 5 years design life, and warranty coverage of two years from operational acceptance. The supplier is responsible for dismantling existing batteries, stacking them at a designated place, and ensuring the UPS system is fully operational post-installation. The project requires delivery and installation within 60 days from the date of Notification of Award.
Eligible bidders must be OEMs or authorized agents with at least three years of experience supplying similar equipment in Pakistan, registered with FBR and appearing on the Active Taxpayers List. They must provide manufacturer authorization and demonstrate financial capability with a minimum turnover of PKR 10 million in any of the last three years. The bid security is PKR 150,000 in the form of Call Deposit/Demand Draft/Payment Order. Bids must be submitted through EPADS by 11:00 AM on April 30, 2026, with technical and financial proposals in separate envelopes as per the Single Stage Two Envelope procedure.
A practical tip for bidders is to ensure all required documents including the manufacturer's authorization form, affidavit of non-blacklisting, and beneficial ownership declaration are complete and submitted timely. Also, bidders should carefully review the technical specifications and warranty terms to avoid disqualification. The operational acceptance certificate will be issued after one month of successful operation, marking the start of the warranty period. The supplier must be prepared to provide prompt corrective maintenance and replacement within four hours of any battery fault during the warranty period without additional cost to the purchaser.
