Tender Description
This tender invites bids for the procurement of a Critical Point Dryer (CPD) system along with compatible sample boats for advanced laboratory use at ICCBS Karachi. The department requires a high-pressure CPD system designed to dry delicate, porous, and monolithic materials such as aerogels without causing structural damage. The equipment must feature a stainless steel chamber with a volume of 1.5 to 2 liters, automated programmable controls, and safety mechanisms including over-pressure relief and automatic pressure release. The sample boats should safely hold fragile samples up to 60 mm in length and withstand pressures of 90 bar and temperatures up to 50 °C. This procurement is critical for research involving nanostructured materials and biological specimens, ensuring reproducible drying cycles and minimal sample damage.
The technical specifications demand a CO2 working fluid with critical temperature and pressure thresholds, a horizontally oriented chamber for fluid handling, and a microprocessor-controlled interface for real-time monitoring and data logging. The system must be compatible with standard laboratory power supplies and include user training and documentation. The site location in Karachi requires consideration of local power standards and laboratory environment conditions.
Bidders should ensure compliance with PEC categories relevant to laboratory equipment and maintain valid FBR/ATL registration for the fiscal year 2025-26. The tender requires a 2% bid security and a 5% performance guarantee. Bidders must submit a complete company profile, demonstrate at least three years of relevant experience, and show an annual turnover of PKR 7 million for the last three years. All bids must be submitted through the EPADS online portal and accompanied by the original bid security pay order.
The submission deadline is set for 24-Feb-2026 at 11:30 AM, with bid opening at 12:00 PM the same day via EPADS. Physical copies of the bid security must be delivered to the Purchase Department at ICCBS Karachi. The address for submission is the Purchase Office, H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi, Karachi-75270.
Pro-Tip: Make sure to carefully follow the bid security submission instructions and submit the original pay order to avoid disqualification. Also, verify your FBR/ATL status and PEC category compliance before submission to ensure eligibility.
