Pre-Qualification of Firms for High Tensile Steel Structure Works by Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd

Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd invites reputed firms and contractors for pre-qualification to participate in construction works involving high tensile steel structures in Karachi. The scope includes processing, fabrication, part assembly, welding in various positions, fairing and grinding of weld seams, manual and mechanical de-rusting and surface preparation, abrasive blast cleaning, and application of approved marine protective coating systems with measurement and control of film thickness as per ISO standards. Items being procured: - Processing of high tensile steel structure - Fabrication of high tensile steel structure - Part assembly of high tensile steel structure - Welding of pre-assembled structure in flat, horizontal, fillet, vertical positions - Fairing and grinding works of weld seams for appearance and visual inspection - Manual/mechanical de-rusting and surface preparation by hand and power tools - Abrasive blast cleaning/grit blasting on steel surfaces and confined spaces - Application of approved marine protective coating systems including primer, intermediate and finishing coats by airless spray, conventional spray, roller or brush Firms must demonstrate experience in fabrication, processing, part assembly, welding, grinding, fairing, surface preparation, de-rusting, and coating application on ships, marine structures, dry dock structures, and steel structures, preferably involving epoxy and other high-performance marine coating systems. Pre-qualification documents with terms and conditions can be obtained from the department on any working day (Monday to Friday) between 0830 to 1600 hours upon deposit of a non-refundable pay order of Rs. 2,000 issued by any scheduled bank of Pakistan in favor of Karachi Shipyard & Engineering Works Ltd. Applications must reach the undersigned by 26 September 2026 in a sealed envelope clearly mentioning 'APPLICATION FOR PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR WHICH REGISTRATION IS DESIRED'. Late proposals will not be considered. KS&EW reserves the right to reject any or all applications as per para-33 of PPRA rules-2024. Only pre-qualified sub-contractors will be invited to bid. Bidders should ensure timely submission and carefully follow the application instructions to avoid disqualification. This pre-qualification is a critical step to participate in future tenders for specialized steel structure works at Karachi Shipyard.
