Tender Description
The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Engineering Department invites bids for the comprehensive civil works involving the providing and laying of a sewerage system and fixing of paver blocks in Chowkandi UC-01, TMC Ibrahim Hyderi, District Malir, Karachi. This tender is a significant opportunity for contractors specializing in civil infrastructure and public health engineering works within the Sindh province.
Items being procured:
- Excavation for pipeline in trenches and pits in soft rock with trimming and dressing sides
- Providing fence guards, lights, flags, and temporary crossings for non-vehicular traffic
- Supply and installation of RCC pipes of ASTM C-76-62 TIC 7670, class II wall 8, in 300 mm and 375 mm diameters
- Refilling excavated trenches with compaction
- Construction of manholes or inspection chambers with B.B walls, cement plastering, and fixing manhole covers
- Preparation of sub-base with well-graded gravel compacted to 98-100% density
- Hire charges for pumping sets for water removal from trenches
- Manufacturing and supplying RCC ring slabs and manhole covers
- Dismantling of cement concrete work
- Earth excavation of ash, sand, soft soil or silt
- Carriage of materials like stone aggregate, bricks, tiles, timber, and fuel wood by trucks
- Providing and fixing cement paving blocks flooring with natural and pigmented colors
- Providing and fixing precast edge blocks with concrete haunching
The scope includes excavation, pipe laying, manhole construction, sub-base preparation, paving block installation, and associated civil works. The project requires adherence to technical specifications, quality standards, and timely completion within 90 days.
Eligibility criteria include valid PEC registration in the relevant category, NTN and SRB active taxpayer status, submission of bid security of 5% of estimated cost, integrity pact, and experience in similar government sector works. Bidders must submit bids electronically via the SPPRA EPADS portal by 11 August 2026, 11:30 AM. Physical submission of bid security and integrity pact is also required before bid opening.
The bid evaluation will be based on technical and financial responsiveness, with a 5% retention on payments and performance security required upon award. The contract will be governed by the standard conditions of contract as detailed in the bidding documents.
