Tender Description
The Local Government Projects, Government of Sindh, Karachi, invites bids for the construction of a vital road from Korangi 2-½ via S.I.U.T (Mehrunnisa Hospital) to Korangi Creek Airbase. This project aims to reconstruct a key 2.5 km dual track road with a width of 7.3 meters, including drainage works of equal length, to improve connectivity between residential areas, healthcare facilities, industrial zones, and strategic coastal locations in Karachi.
Items being procured:
- Clearing and grubbing site
- Dismantling and removing road metaling
- Earthwork excavation and embankment
- Sub-base preparation with gravel
- Aggregate base course
- Asphalt concrete base and wearing courses
- Priming and tack coat application
- Scarifying existing road surface
- Median, footpath, and island construction including precast edge blocks and cement paving blocks
- Drainage works including excavation, concrete works, steel reinforcement, pipe laying, manholes, and cleaning
- Ancillary works such as reinforced concrete barriers, traffic signs, pavement marking, and reflectorized road studs
- Electrification works including RCC foundations, MS tubular poles, PVC insulated cables, lighting fixtures
- Sewerage works including excavation, manholes, pipe laying, and cleaning
- Water supply works including pipe laying, chambers, sluice valves, and pumping
The technical scope covers comprehensive civil, drainage, electrical, sewerage, and water supply works executed as per approved specifications and standards. The project requires bidders to be registered with Pakistan Engineering Council in relevant categories, possess valid FBR and SRB registrations, and submit earnest money and bid security as per tender documents.
Bidders must submit their bids through the E-Pak Acquisition and Disposable System (E-PADS) portal using the Single Stage Two Envelope procedure. The bids will be evaluated on technical and financial criteria, with a minimum technical score of 80 out of 100 required for financial bid opening.
