Tender Description
The Employees' Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) Karachi invites bids for the operation and maintenance of two lifts installed at the EOBI Head Office located at 190/1/B Block II PECHS Nursery, Saddar Sub-Division, Karachi South. This procurement is for the financial year 2026-27 and requires qualified and experienced personnel to ensure smooth and uninterrupted functioning of the lifts.
Items being procured:
- Operation and maintenance services for Two (2) Lifts (680 Kg capacity each)
- Deployment of One (1) Lift Technician full-time
- Deployment of Two (2) Lift Operators full-time
- Provision of all cleaning materials, lubricants, and minor repair services
- Monthly cleaning, lubrication, and adjustment of lift mechanisms including machine, motor, control panel, bearings, and guide rails
- Prompt attendance and rectification of any lift breakdowns
- Carrying out minor repairs without extra charge
- Major repairs subject to approval and additional cost
- Monthly submission of maintenance and servicing reports
The scope includes operation from 08:30 to 17:30 hours Monday to Friday, with the contractor responsible for providing uniforms, identity cards, and maintaining attendance registers countersigned by the Employer's Representative. The Lift Technician must have passed Matriculation, hold an Electrical Wireman License, and have at least 10 years of experience in lift operations and maintenance. Lift Operators must have passed Matriculation and have a minimum of 2 years experience operating lifts.
The contractor shall supply all necessary tools and equipment and ensure availability of spare parts, procuring them as approved by the Employer. The contract duration is 12 months starting August 17, 2026. Bidders must be registered with Sindh Revenue Board, on the active tax list of FBR, and comply with all relevant government regulations including minimum wages.
The bid submission deadline is Friday, July 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM via EPADS v2.0 only. Manual bids will not be accepted. Bid security in the form of Pay Order or Demand Draft must be submitted in original to the EOBI Head Office before the closing date. The contract will be awarded on Least Cost Based Selection (LCBS) basis. Bidders are advised to carefully review the bidding documents and ensure timely submission of all required documents including bid security and declaration of no blacklisting.
A practical tip for bidders: Ensure your technical and financial bids are complete and compliant with the eligibility criteria, and register early on EPADS v2.0 to avoid last-minute submission issues.
